What is the proper punishment for abusive parents?

Regarding the two little boys that ran away because their parents had put them in a dog cage and even had the older of the two wear a shock collar used in training animals. They ran away, I think they were 10 and 5, they knew they should not have been treated like that, now you are the judge and jury, what punishment would you impose? Should the punishment fit the crime, or should they endure more pain - because they were adults?What is the proper punishment for abusive parents?
they should be treated and punished the same way for what they have done... they should also both have their sexual organs removed so they could never put any more children through such cruelty..What is the proper punishment for abusive parents?

Cycles of abuse are not broken by punishments, and perhaps reinforce a hypocritical notion violence is appropriate.
why don't you let those who are in charge of the prosecuting/sentencing decide what punishment these people should receive?
I feel that abusive parents should have the same horrible things done to them or to be put under the jail and never see the light of day again how could a parent hurt an innocent child ?
The parents deserve jail time. And counseling. The kids should be taken away from them until the parents are ready to behave normally.
ugh some people can be so sick! death won't do it. they deserve to spend their lives in jail and get raped by 300 pound thugs.
If I were the judge or jury I'd give the parents the same treatment they gave their sons. I don't know what else would show them that what they did was so painful to the boys mentally and physically..after they were given the treatment then they would be sent to a ';boot camp'; for hard labor. I don't know if people who have these kinds of minds can ever be cured they might have to be held for the rest of their lives.
I would put them in jail for the rest of their lives.....and let them experience what the children went through......child abuse is just plain cruel......I don't know how anyone gets enjoyment out of children's pain!!

Let them stand before God, for they have harmed his children. And God will give them the worse punishment... Soemthing we wont be able to do in this earth.
The kids should be given up for adoption so they know what a loving family life is. The parents should be sterilised so they cannot ever have any more kids and they should spend at least 10 yrs in jail too.
Put them on jail. They may need counseling.
This question just makes me want to cry. Some people should not have children. I think they should be sterilized, first of all, then they should be locked up with their parental rights terminated permanently so maybe some graceful person will adopt the children, though it is unlikely. My personal take on it is they should be shot, but I think that is not an option, maybe the electric chair, definately capital punishment, they have effective killed thesechildren by robbing them of hte proper skills neccessary to ever live a normal life.
