Best time to start education as a parent?

In the womb? I ask because I have been studying whether or not playing educational discs for babies in the womb is beneficial. When did you start your baby's education?Best time to start education as a parent?
Education begins in the womb, but you do not need tons of special materials to teach your child. Don't run out to get flash cards, learning programs, or those worthless (and actually detrimental) ';educational'; baby DVDs. A rule of thumb: if it requires electricity or batteries, your baby doesn't need it to learn. Instead, keep the TV off as much as possible. Read to your child often. My husband and I started reading to our son well before he was born. Talk to your child throughout the day, making eye contact and allowing time for your baby to respond (even if it's just through cooing). Skip the baby talk; no ba - ba or num - nums. Interact with your child as often as possible and give him plenty of encouragement. Really, that's all he will need to learn. Good luck.Best time to start education as a parent?
