Any suggestions on meals for new parents?

I'm visiting friends that just brought their premie home and I'd love to bring them a great single platter meal to eat now, or freeze for later. I always bring lasagne- any other suggestions?Any suggestions on meals for new parents?
I have my own version of sheppards pie, its in expensive, can be stuffed full of veggies and like you asked for can be either reheated in the oven or frozen for later. This makes about 4 very big serves.

about 5oz (or a little bit more) of beef mince

2 cloves garlic finely diced

1 small onion, finely diced

3/4 can diced tomatoes

2 stock cubes (2 teaspoons) (I used 1 chicken %26amp; 1 beef)

1 cup water

2 tbspn tomato sauce (ketchup)

1 - 1 1/2 tbspn soy sauce

1 sml tin corn

3/4 (or so) cup softned veges (cook a little bit in the microwave- I used 1/2 carrot, and a bit of broccoli)

3 potatoes mashed with butter and milk

grated cheese

Cook the onion and garlic in some oil till soft Add the mince and break up. Cook till almost cooked through. Add the vegies. Add the tomatoes. Disolve the stock in the water. Let simmer for about 20 mins stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces. Add the tomato sauce and soy sauce about alfway through. Keep simmering until the liquid has reduced to a thick sauce. spread the mashed potatoes over the meat and sprinkle with grated cheese.

You can prepare everything and leave this to reheat later. Preheat the oven to about 180C and warm for about 20 mins, or until heated through and the cheese has melted.Any suggestions on meals for new parents?
My daughter liked beef vegetable stew or soup. Good time of year for all those veggies. Fresh herbs to flavor them too if you can get them.
Enchiladas, any kind of casserole, Soup. And as you mentioned, lasagna sounds good.
That's so nice of you. Gosh, I wish I had someone cooking for us when we brought our baby home!

I make a pot roast in a slow cooker, so that's not only easy for you to make, but it makes alot of food. I'd also suggest chili, enchiladas, raw hamburger or turkey patties which they can freeze. Those can be made in large quantities for leftovers. There's also roasted chicken or beef stroganoff.
i brought my friend lots of food, too, when she brought her baby home from the hospital...

i cubed some chicken and added teriaki sauce, then froze into ziplock bags, for them to sautee later on. i also froze portions of chili (i hear this was her husband's favorite), and lasagna.

another idea... bring a case or two of bottled water if the mom is breastfeeding. i still go thru abot 8 bottles a day breastfeeding my little one.
Shepard's pie would be a good alternative. Maybe some chicken and rice casserole, chicken and stuffing. Make like a big pot pie with your choice of meat chicken or beef and green peas corn and carrots and potatoes pour in some cream of chicken soup and some chicken stock with salt pepper maybe some onion. Cook on stove top then transfer to baking dish and put a pack of biscuits on top at the last few minutes of cooking (the last 10 or 12 according to the package. That would be good.
