Anyone know how to convince your parents that you are ready to own a horse?

Ok. I really have wanted a horse since I first started riding. I have been around horses for 8 years now and I am preatty knowledgeable about horses. Anyone know any tips?Anyone know how to convince your parents that you are ready to own a horse?
Some hard work and tenacity...the easiest part about getting a horse is actually buying it. It's going to sound redundant but start saving, do some serious research about what kind of horse you want and why. Volunteer your time at a local barn or stable...they are always looking for help in some way or another. Good luck!!Anyone know how to convince your parents that you are ready to own a horse?
Its pretty hard but it helps if your parents like horses too. How old are you? Im guessing old enough to get a job - work really hard and earn money - even better if that job is at a yard or stables where you can get more experience. You may think you are knowledgeable about horses but are you? Do you know what to feed and how much? Will you be able to tell if the horse is sick, can you look after a paddock? When you own a horse 80% of it is looking after him and his surroundings, the actual riding part is minimal compared (but totally worth it)

What have you parents said when you bring up the subject?

Riding is an expensive sport and very time consuming- do you have anywhere to keep a horse?

Good luck :)
You need to show them that you are mature enough to understand the responsibility, and the fact that you are asking this question shows otherwise. Horses are so expensive, you need to get a good paying job to show your parents you are a hard worker and save your money. Many jobs for kids in the horse world aren't going to pay that much, so you will have to look elsewhere. It is quite likely that your parents can't afford to keep one for you. I suggest working very hard in school so you can get a good job and someday buy your own horse.
If your going to ';convince'; them you need to show your mature. Get paperwork together on what you'd be doing, what kind of sacrifices YOU would be making, how many times you'd go see the horse, why a horse would benefit you etc. Any paperwork like this will show your parents you spent a long time working your best to make some good papers on your intentions with the horse and why it would benefit you.

Although, remember if your parents say no, they say no. You cant say ';we can afford it'; because you arent making the money and paying the bills. But i think if you showed them in a mature way they would consider it, although i dont know what your parents are like so i cant exactly say that.

have you ever leased? you should consider leasing BEFORE buying.
Ok So Maybe If U Go And Work With Horses In The Summer For A While Then Whoever Works There (Own The Place) Could Tell Your Parents How Good You Was With The Horses And You Was Very Responsible Then Maybe Your Parents Will Think Twice. Well I Hope My Answer Was Useful =]

P.S Could You Please Try To Answer My Question Thanx =]
Ok, im in your passions

Maybe metion it to your parents. If you keep naggoing itll neve happen. U think the forget, like i use 2. But once i didnt ask for one just for 1 months and they moved the horse buying day up.

try that
we have 4 horses and a barn and it's an expensive activity with a lot of hard work to prepare for shows and keep the horses trained, fed and healthy.
Start saving your own money towards the cost to show how dedicated you are to it.
