Oh man, I was getting ready to let you have it! I am certainly pleasantly surprised that you are sneaking a gift.
I like the idea of keeping it at a neighbors, or at a friends house. Also if there is a corner in the basement or garage where she doesn't frequently daily, you could try to hide it there.

Seriously, do you have a family member in town, like an aunt/uncle that can hold it for you? Or, maybe someone from church could help out?
Try getting an older sibling, or aunt or your grandparents in on it. They might be able to take you out to buy it and maybe even house it until the big day. If you dont have family near by you can always try a close friend.
If all else fails you can just go shopping with your mom and tell her that you have a suprise to buy and you dont want to her know what it is. Moms always like to know that their kids are thinking of them, and it doesnt spoil the whole suprise, because she wont know what it is until that day.
tell her to do something where she wont see u and then sneek it in.
Steph, Walmart has a layaway. Go with any one, the will hold it, and you only have to pay 10% upfront, then you can go and get it right before easter.
