What happens if a person has joint custody of their child and the other parent moves out of state?

Asking on behalf of my boyfriend. Briefly we reside in CA and the mother has moved the son to Atlanta. To my knowledge she hasn't notified the courts and refuses to give my boyfriend the address to where she currently resides. Is there anything that he can do? Any information would be greatly appreciated. What happens if a person has joint custody of their child and the other parent moves out of state?
You need to hire a lawyer. While I am pretty sure he could file contempt of court charges against her, there are many things that if done wrong will hurt his chances of getting things fixed. What happens if a person has joint custody of their child and the other parent moves out of state?
Report to the county that you reside in and have them track her down -
jail.....time
