What would you do if your parents refused you to date somebody outside of your race or religion?

I would move out to a different province or country and I would stop all forms of communication with my parents. If they tried to call me, they would be footing the long distance bill. Better yet, I would not tell them and I would not bring my girlfriend over to my house.What would you do if your parents refused you to date somebody outside of your race or religion?
that is ridiculous. i would leave home n just do whatever. i would date whoever i wanted.

When I was a teenager, my dad warned me to never come home with a black girl (his terminology wasn't as nice as I just expressed). I told my father that, although I respected him, I didn't share his views with regard to race, and although I would never purposely seek out a black woman, if I happened to fall in love with one, whether it be through work, the gym, or wherever, it would be HIS choice whether he lost a son or gained a daughter-in-law should that relationship end up in marriage.





The subject never came up again!
Wow, sounds a lot like my situation!! My parents are FLAMING racists and somehow (thank G-d) it didn't rub off on me! I wasn't even really allowed to date until I was 17, and I dated one guy when I lived with them and that was it. After I moved out, I dated who *I* saw fit to date and married who *I* saw fit to marry. They do not agree with my choice. I am very Aryan and my husband is half Native American. I was raised Pentecostal and he was raised Baptist. They are appalled! I don't give a dang! He is a good man that treats me like a princess and is a wonder father and a great provider. What more can a girl ask for. I did keep in contact with them until my son was born (funny thing, he looks very Aryan as well....LOL) and I was very afraid they would say racist things around him or say ugly things about his father or his half sister or my nieces and nephews so I cut off contact with them. My son doesn't need that in his life and it is better that he doesn't have them making him uncomfortable with their small minded comments!!! I am pregnant again, and hopefully this baby will look more like my husband!!
Well I would give them reasons why I like him as a person and how he makes me happy and that I can't help but feel a certain way towards some body. Im on this earth to make me feel happy not my parents. I think tuning out your parents would be a bad Idea, trust me. God forbid it doesn't work out as you expected to and ofcourse you would want to go back or something. Trust me things happen. You need plan b to d or something.
While living under your parents roof, you follow their rules.





Once you are on your own, living in your own home, paying your own bills, then your choices are your own.
explain to them that you really like the person for who they are and not for where they came from..
I;d tell them that it was a retarded reason and run away or move in with someone else and kepp my boyfriend.....
