so is there a site where it shows that it won't?
and does it stop my growth? How can i prove to my parents that lifting weights will not stop my growth?
Lifting weights will not hinder your growth. This is just an unfortunate myth that keeps being repeated.
Doctors recommend strength training for youth. It improves athletic performance and helps prevent injury.
Various medical websites have articles on this. For example, see the following statement linked from the Cleveland Clinic:
鈥淒espite the previously held belief that strength training was unsafe and ineffective for children, health organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) now ';support children's participation in appropriately designed and competently supervised strength training programs.';

While you won鈥檛 stunt your growth lifting weights, you can be injured. It is very important to get instruction in proper lifting technique. If you don鈥檛 have a coach to instruct you, get this book http://www.amazon.com/Strength-Power-You鈥?/a>
Young guys put themselves under greater stress jumping out of trees, throwing a ball, and rough-housing, then encountered with sensible strength training. How can i prove to my parents that lifting weights will not stop my growth?

Unfourtunately it's not a series of scientific studies. Probably the best thing would be to ask your doctor, he will then say lifting weights will not stunt your growth,
Additionaly, weightlifting is using your muscle against resistance. So if weightlifting stunted people growth, so would other athletic or physical activities, like yard work, carrying heavy things, sprinting, jumping, football, push-ups and so on.
Hopefully you will get to lift weights in the near future. If you do check out:

Both have excellent routines and lots of other useful information
1) Get the doctor to back you up.
2) Point out that it is natural for humans to develop new muscle, that is why children play.
3) Just a side note, the doctor told me at 14 that if I never started smoking, i'd be 6'5, I still turned out at 6'1, but my point is, I would have rather lost those 4'; by working out, so there can be worse things to stunt you growth.
Make sure when lifting you don't rush results, i.e. don't power lift, do lighter weights and more reps, it helps keep the muscle that you spend so much time gaining. Example, look at Arnold Swartzinager, and look at the old pictures of Bruce Lee, two very diffrent extreems, and judge.
Here is the ONLY way weight training can stunt growth:
Excessive weights at too young an age can damage your joints, inhibiting growth.
Other than that, exercises actually Stimulates growth!
Show them pictures of athletes who use weight training (google olympic athlete or something) and how most are not short. If anything, the average athlete is a little taller than most.
my anatomy/physiology teacher told us they way it stunts ur growth is if u lose all ur fat cells...i workout alot and i still grew up to 5'11...
