Why am I proud that my parents came to this country illegaly?

My parents came here illegaly (they are citizens now though) and I take pride in this for some reason... Why is that? I don't hesitate to tell this to me because nothing can be done now lol.Why am I proud that my parents came to this country illegaly?

Because it brings with it a feeling of power. Despite what the law said, your parents managed to get away with it. On top of that, they're now 100% legal and, as you said, are protected under the law.





It's similar to the feeling you get when a cashier undercharges you for a purchase and you knew about it all along. The cashier will likely realize what happened, but by that point there isn't anything that can be done.





Sure, it's dishonest, but you can't help but get a warm fuzzy feeling :-)

You should always be proud of your family. If all of you don't participate in saving this democracy then you are failures as patriotic citizens and you are only here to take advantage of the US.





Democracy is your responsibility. Quit gloating and do something valuable for the rights of ALL people and not just yours.
Well I don't know why you would be proud of illegal activities... But I would guess your proud because hopefully they love this country and I hope you do to. My family came over LEGALLY and are proud Americans too! My real question about this is how did they obtain their citizenship, why did they come over and from where? Many people come over without the intention of wanting to obtain citizenship but after being here want to stay because the USA is so fantastic. I feel it is much more acceptable if someone comes over stays but immediately starts working on a citizenship.

I will refrain from passing judgment on your parents as I am not familiar with their circumstances. However, they did break the law. This is a nation of laws that ought to be obeyed or protested in a lawful manner. Violating our immigration laws is not something of which your parents should boast.
Your parents aren't the only ones who came to this country illegally. There are thousands out there. My parents were born here. Are you the same guy that made that other question saying that he was ';illegal';? What is this tonight? Brag that you're illegal night or something???
